Jonatão Katchitetele Eliseu, better known by his stage name Sapiyossi, is a prominent figure in the Angolan music scene and an inspirational role model for many. Benita Tchalunguila Caetano Jonatão, better known as Janeth, was born on May 3, 2011, followed by Alberto Eliseu Caetano Jonatão, affectionately called Ivandro, born on June 4, 2014. Education: a case interrupted by war but overcome with determination
Unusual challenges from an early age marked Sapiyossi’s university life. Born during the Angolan Civil War, he encountered difficulties in pursuing education. However, his unwavering determination propelled him beyond adversity.
Despite the interruptions caused by the war, Sapiyossi completed his secondary education at the Helsha-Day school in Huambo, specialising in biological sciences from 2003 to 2006. This achievement is a testament to his resilience and commitment to education, even amid a tumultuous environment.
Subsequently, his quest for knowledge took him beyond the borders of Angola, attended the VUB Vrije Universiteit Brussel in the Department of Languages and Literatures (2019-2020), successfully acquiring proficiency in six languages: Portuguese, Umbundu, French, English, Spanish (primary) and Dutch (primary).
